Of Nebuchadnezzar, Suppiluliuma and Gassulawiya

August 25th, 2012

Unfortunately I still can’t convince my wife to name our children after long dead kings of biblical empires. I tried to convince her to name our first child “Nebuchadnezzar, King of the Fertile Crescent” [wikipedia.org] but she didn’t like it. A good thing in the end I guess as it turned out the baby was a girl, an Nebuchadnezzar, King of the Fertile Crescent is a bit odd for a girl. For our second child I was hopping for a less well-known dead king &emdash; one “Suppiluliuma, Lord of Anatolia” [wikipedia.org] for a boy or “Gassulawiya, Tawananna of the Hittites [wikipedia.org]” for a girl. For some reason my wife is less than inclined to let me name the kids.
