I was having a conversation with a friend the other day who is currently watching the entire M*A*S*H series—all 11 seasons. As we talked about the show and it’s political commentary, that is had a lot to say about Vietnam and America in the late 60’s and early 70’s through the thin disguise of the Korean War, we thought it would be a good idea to remake M*A*S*H but use Baghdad as the backdrop. I don’t think any American network has the balls to do this today, maybe HBO or Showtime, but not ABC, NBC or CBS. Too bad, a bit of humor and a lot of self reflection is good from time to time.
