confusion

A friend of mine at work said today that on his way home yesterday he heard the Star Spangled Banner on the radio. He said that for the first time he understood it on an emotional level. For the first time he understood what it means to be be an American. He said he cried.

Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.

O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?

I grieve for those who’s life was lost today, and my heart goes out to those who lost a loved one.

If the Taliban hate the teaching of other religious views so much I suggest that we fill an old B-52 with the thousands (millions?) of those little green (and red) New Testaments, they hand out all the time. Then fly it over Afghanistan since the Taliban have said that their airspace is off limits to commercial and military traffic. They have vowed to shoot down and violaters of this, so we put the biblical B-52 on autopilot and when they shoot it out of the sky it will rain down Christian propaganda.

You grade how funny a few lame jokes are then it starts telling you jokes based on your preferences. I don’t know it there is any merit to it, but after you grade the first few it does get funnier.

I got an e-mail today from the “International Student Coordinator” at City. She said that they had not received my housing payment, nor my paperwork, and that this was due on August 3. Now I have to spend Monday morning on the phone trying to find out what the hell is going on. I faxed those papers over more than a month ago and Syracuse and Mason where “taking care of the payments.”

Man, every time I think everything is in order and I am ready to go, I start to get excited and then something stupid comes up like this!!!!
